Why should I choose Gorilla Ears?

Because, quite simply, they are the best. Our monitors are hand-made with the love and attention-to-detail that only a primate can give.

What can my Gorilla Ears plug into?

Gorilla Ears use a standard 1/8th inch (3.5mm) mini-stereo plug and will connect with all iPods, mp3 players, laptops and wireless monitoring receivers for on-stage use.

What is a faceplate? What is a shell?

The faceplate is the piece of the device that will show while you are wearing it. The shell is the translucent piece of the device that will be in your ear. If you still don't get it, use the photo below as a reference.

Will my friends be jealous?

If they’re not, then you need to kick ‘em to the curb. Who needs friends with crappy taste?

So then … where are these made? Who makes them?

OK, so just kidding about all the ‘we’re a primate’ stuff. We’re not in the Congo. Promise. Our company, Janus Development Group, makes these custom monitors right here in the good ‘ole USA, using only the highest quality materials.

Who is Janus Development Group?

Contrary to popular belief, we are not a bunch of apes around here. Janus Development Group manufactures and markets Gorilla Ears among other products.

What does AT and GX stand for?

Nothing. Seriously, we made them up.

I’ve already paid you guys .. now why do I need to visit an audiologist?

The quality of our monitors starts with using a quality ear impression … it’s what makes them fit perfectly, and helps us ensure that you are one happy camper. An audiologist will make the best ear impressions for you, usually charging about $100 or so ($50 per ear) and following the instructions that we supply.

How long until I get my new ears?

From the time that we get your ear impressions, it usually takes about 3-4 weeks. Any longer than that and we’ll bang our chests to alert you to any delays.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We’ll ship Gorilla Ears all over the planet – you just need to be aware that you’ll be financially responsible for any international shipping charges or tariffs.

What comes with my monitors?

You get your monitors, a wax/cleaning brush, and a carrying case. If you randomly get a banana peel, consider yourself lucky.

And, how do I care for them?

Simply wipe them off with a clean, dry cloth after each use. Check for wax accumulation at the business end of your monitors, and if you notice any, use the supplied wax brush to clean it off.

Any special instructions for how to put these in my ears?

Since everyone’s ears are different, there’s no great way to tell you how to put your Gorilla Ears in your ears. However, you can watch some of us put ours in to get an idea.


You got it! When you purchase your Gorilla Ears, you receive a 1 YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY. For those who like the details, here you go: Your Gorilla Ears are warranted to be free from manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for 1 year from the original shipping date. The warranty extends only to the original purchaser. We will repair or replace the product at our discretion.

Warranty does not cover:
- Damage, defects or failure caused by misuse, abuse, accidents, negligence, excessive volume, misapplication, improper care, excessive wax accumulation, or acts of God (including tornados, we're looking at you midwest America).
- Normal wear and tear.
- Damage caused by service performed by anyone other than an authorized service center.
- Damages caused by a product or part that has been modified, altered or failure to follow manufacturer's instructions.

Cables are guaranteed to not be dead on arrival, but are not covered under the product warranty. If you have a cable failure, replacements can be purchased via our website.

What if they don’t fit my ear right?

You may experience some slight discomfort when you first begin wearing your new monitors ..which is normal. However, if the discomfort is severe or persists, contact us at any time within the first 30 days of receipt and we’ll fix them to your liking.

What are your international shipping rates?

Our international shipping rate is $100. For our neighbors in Canada and Mexico, the rate is $50. These rates are for shipping charges only and do not include VAT, custom duties or fees.
